The lemon cucumber

I just recently joined a local CSA, and this past week, I got my first basket of produce. There were some interesting things in there, including a couple of lemon cucumbers, which I'd never seen before.

I would have never guessed this was a cucumber by looking at the outside.

The first slice revealed a beautiful star pattern.

Subsequent slices got a little scary looking, though.

And it tasted just like a cucumber.

regarding her plant she just bought not too long ago! Amazing. I think I need one of these plants now...maybe start one in October here!

  3. Is there a word for that phenomenon when you've never seen or heard of something, then all of a sudden it seems to be everywhere?

Because this is one of those things.

Reluctantly, I have reinstated the word verification for all comments on this blog. I don't like it any more than you do, but the rate of breakthrough spam was even more annoying. Thanks for understanding.
